OFFER REVIEW & NEGOTIATION

Make the right move.

You've made it through the hiring process and now have an offer in front of you. This means you may suddenly have a lot of questions. Is the offer competitive? What should you clarify? Which parts are worth negotiating? What should you ask for if the employer can't move on salary? And how do you know when you've negotiated enough?

Offer Support gives you an experienced perspective from the hiring side, helping you understand how employers approach offers and negotiations, what is realistic to ask for and how to approach the conversation.
OFFER REVIEW & NEGOTIATION

  • 90 min working session

  • Full offer assessment

  • Compensation & benefits analysis

  • Contract & conditions review

  • Negotiation strategy & script

  • Key questions to ask before accepting

  • Ongoing support through multiple rounds of negotiation.
We'll look beyond the headline salary and assess the offer as a whole.
I'll review the key elements of your compensation and employment conditions. We'll also consider how the offer compares with what is typical for your level and situation in the Dutch market, where relevant.

What we will work on

THE FRAMEWORK
We'll identify the factors that matter most to you — compensation, flexibility, career progression, scope, title, development, security or something else — and assess the offer against them, rather than looking at salary in isolation.

If you're considering multiple offers, we'll compare them across the factors that matter to you and help you see the trade-offs clearly.
Not every part of an offer is equally negotiable and negotiating effectively is about more than simply asking for more money. We'll identify:

  • What is worth negotiating
  • Where you have leverage to negotiate
  • What to prioritize
  • What to ask for if salary has limited flexibility
  • How to frame your requests
  • When and how to raise them
  • How to respond if the employer says no

We'll develop a clear negotiation strategy and script you can use. The goal is to approach the negotiation prepared, professional and confident without damaging the relationship you've built with your future employer.

Negotiation

3
What should you negotiate and how?
An offer is a commitment, so it's worth making sure you understand what you're agreeing to. We'll identify any questions you should clarify, terms that need further discussion and anything else you should consider before deciding whether to accept.

Your decision

4
What do you need to know before you decide?
Once you book, you'll get a short intake form: share the offer, your current situation and what you want out of our work together. Upload the offer letter and any other documents you have on compensation and conditions. I'll review everything in advance, so our 90 minutes together goes straight to what matters.

Before we meet

01
During 90 min working session, I'll share my assessment of the offer and we'll get clear on your priorities — what's actually worth negotiating and why. From there, we'll build your negotiation strategy and the specific language you'll use with the employer along with the key questions you should ask before signing. If you're weighing more than one offer, we'll structure a clear comparison so the choice is easier to make.

Working session

02
You'll leave with a clear read on the offer, your priorities and how you'll approach the negotiations. After the working session, you'll get a personalized negotiation script. If the employer comes back with a revised offer or you enter another round of negotiation, you can use your follow-up support to sense-check the new terms and decide how to respond.

How it works

THE STEPS
Knowing what to ask for is only half of negotiating well. The other half is understanding how the employer will actually hear it — what they're likely to see as reasonable, where they probably have flexibility, and how your request will land on their side of the table. I'll help you approach the conversation from both sides of the table, so you can advocate for yourself while keeping the relationship with your future employer in mind.

You're new to the Netherlands and don't know what's standard here, so you can't tell if the terms are fair.
✓

✓
You'll leave understanding what you're accepting. You’ll have a negotiation strategy tailored to your situation and the language to use with the employer. You'll be able to make your decision with a clear understanding of the offer and confidence that you've handled the negotiation as well as you could.
