INTERVIEW INTENSIVE

Turn an interview into an opportunity.

An interview looks like one conversation, but it's more than that. A recruiter may be screening for fit and risk. A hiring manager is picturing you in the role day to day. A senior stakeholder is weighing how you'll handle ambiguity. Each of them is running their own assessment against their own criteria.

Most interview preparation focuses on what to say, that is only half the equation. The other half is understanding what the person across the table is trying to find out — the question behind the question — and knowing how to show them that.

Interview Intensive helps you prepare for the interview that's in front of you or strengthen your interview skills more broadly, so you're ready when the right opportunity appears.

If you're preparing for a specific interview, we'll work from the actual vacancy, company and interview stage. We'll identify the capabilities and qualities you're likely to be assessed on and what your interviewer may be looking for.

If you don't have an interview yet, we'll work with the types of roles you're targeting and focus on the interview situations you're most likely to encounter.

Understand the interview

1
What are you actually being assessed on?

What we will work on

THE FRAMEWORK
We'll run a tailored practice interview based on the perspective most relevant to you. Depending on the role and interview stage, I can act as:

  • Recruiter / Talent Acquisition
  • Hiring Manager
  • Senior Leader / Stakeholder
  • A combination of interviewers

I'll challenge you as someone in that position is likely to and give you detailed feedback afterwards. We'll look at how effectively your answers demonstrate the qualities the interviewer is looking for.
I'll give you detailed feedback on your actual performance, including:

  • What is already working
  • Where your answers lose impact
  • What isn't coming through strongly enough
  • Where you're over-explaining or under-explaining
  • How clearly your examples demonstrate the capabilities the role requires
  • What your answers communicate about you as a candidate
  • How your delivery affects the overall impression

From there, we'll work on the areas that could make the biggest difference. That might mean restructuring an answer, choosing a stronger example, making your contribution clearer or finding a better way to say something that's currently getting lost.

How do you perform when you're actually in the interview?

Feedback

3
What's coming across and how do we make it stronger?
The questions you ask are part of the interview too. We'll identify what you should ask, what you still need to understand about the role and company, and what your questions communicate about you as a candidate.

Your questions

4
What will you ask them?
You'll receive the Career Atelier Interview Playbook — a practical guide to common interview questions from different interviewers, why they're asked and how to approach them. I recommend using it before our session to prepare and after our session to continue practicing. It's designed to help you understand the thinking behind interview questions and prepare more deliberately — rather than memorize scripts.

Your Interview Playbook

5
Prepare beyond our session.
Once you book, you'll receive a short intake form to share your target role, interview situation and what you'd like to work on. If you're preparing for a specific interview, you'll also share the vacancy and any information you've received about the interview process.

You'll receive the Career Atelier Interview Playbook to help you prepare beforehand. I recommend reviewing it before our session so you can come ready with questions and focus our time on what will be most useful to you.

I'll review your information in advance and use it to tailor the session to your situation.

Before we meet

01
We'll spend 120 minutes together, starting with a short discussion to make sure we're focused on the right areas. You'll have the opportunity to ask questions about the interview, including specific questions you're unsure how to answer or situations you expect may be challenging.

We'll then move into a tailored practice interview, based on the role and interview stage. I'll conduct it as realistically as possible, including follow-up questions and challenges where appropriate.

The main part of our session is dedicated to feedback and improvement. I'll walk you through what came across strongly, where your answers lost impact and what an interviewer might take away from your responses. We'll then work on the areas that could make the biggest difference — developing stronger answers, sharpening your examples and finding clearer ways to communicate your experience.

Working session

02
You'll leave with specific recommendations to take into your actual interview and a clearer understanding of what you need to work on. You can continue using the Interview Playbook as you prepare and if questions come up as you put the feedback into practice, you can email me for 14 days afterwards and I'll help you work through them.

How it works

THE STEPS
I'll approach your interview preparation from the perspective of someone who has spent years interviewing and evaluating candidates. I will share with you the insights into what interviewers are trying to find out and what signals the strong fit. You'll get feedback based on how your answers are likely to land with the person sitting across the table.

A hiring-side perspective

It is for you if…

You have an interview coming up and want to prepare specifically for the role, company and interview stage.
✓
You don't have an interview yet, but want to strengthen your interview skills and be ready when the right opportunity comes along.
✓
You want to understand what different interviewers are actually assessing and how to demonstrate what you bring.
✓
You tend to overthink, ramble or struggle to articulate your experience under pressure.
✓
You'll leave with a clearer understanding of what interviewers are assessing, what you want them to remember about you and how to demonstrate it through your answers. You'll have practical feedback you can use beyond one interview — helping you approach future interviews with a stronger structure and clearer examples.
